Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry level RN for the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP 1) in Columbia, SC. You will assess, plan, intervene and evaluate care for an assigned patient group, coordinating with RNs, LVNs/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians to ensure quality dialysis treatment.

As part of the End Stage Kidney Disease health care team, you will contribute to teaching, leadership, and quality improvement activities, while completing CAP requirements to advance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Provides and coordinates clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned group of patients.
• Documents patient data and adjusts treatment plan in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Educates patients and family on learning needs and care plans.
• Delivers safe and effective hemodialysis therapy and administers medications as prescribed.
• Responds to emergencies and supports/mentors staff during shifts.
• Ensures proper lab procedures and documentation; coordinates specimen handling.
• Leads and participates in staff training and orientation as assigned.
• Communicates transplant and treatment modality options to patients and families.
