Job summary

Norman Regional is seeking a detail-oriented Scheduling Assistant to coordinate outpatient diagnostic exams by phone with physician offices and patients. You will index incoming orders, transfer faxes, and ensure supporting documentation and ICD-10 codes meet Medical Necessity requirements for scheduled procedures.

Responsibilities include handling add-on and STAT procedures, and providing CPT codes to physician offices to assist with prior authorization, working in a collaborative health-care

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in a medical or business office
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology
• Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes
• High school education or equivalent or college degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Schedule outpatient diagnostic exams over the phone with physician offices and patients
• Index incoming orders and transfer faxes to other departments as necessary
• Ensure supporting documentation and ICD-10 codes are received to support Medical Necessity for scheduled procedures
• Manage add-on or STAT procedures
• Provide CPT codes to physician offices to assist with obtaining prior authorization
