Job summary

ArborMetrics is seeking a Consulting Utility Forester to join our vegetation management team. You will patrol energy corridors, assess vegetation, and determine pruning, removal, or protection actions in line with client standards.

You will work outdoors with landowners and agencies, using GIS tools and upholding safety standards. A forestry-related degree and a valid driver’s license are required; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, or related discipline or equivalent work experience (education may be required dependent on client contract)
• Experience in forestry, arboriculture, horticulture or tree-related green industry preferred.
• Knowledge of tree identification and ability to learn new programs.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Patrol Preparation: organize records, maps, and paperwork for patrol circuits; maintain accurate documentation.
• Field Patrol Duties: safely patrol energy corridors, identify vegetation for pruning/removal/protection, classify work with ISA pruning techniques and ANSI standards.
• Landowner & Stakeholder Engagement: use maps to identify property boundaries, communicate work plans to owners/agencies, obtain permissions.
• Vegetation Management & Compliance: recommend sustainable strategies, audit contractor work, investigate outages, address service and compliance issues.
• Coordination & Safety: coordinate non-routine work, report safety concerns, follow safety protocols and vehicle operation.
• Additional Responsibilities: participate in storm/emergency response, perform other duties.
