Job summary

Virginia State Parks in Twin Lakes State Park seeks a Maintenance Ranger to perform grounds care, light maintenance, and cleaning tasks essential to park facilities and equipment. The role requires frequent outdoor activity and the ability to work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities include keeping bathhouses and campsites tidy, mowing, trimming, and basic vehicle/tool maintenance. Background checks and E-Verify apply, with a focus on safety and reliable weekend availability.

Qualifications

Valid Driver's License required.
Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings.
Must be willing and capable of working in a variety of outdoor conditions.
General knowledge of the use and care of common hand tools and cleaning supplies.
Ability to perform routine cleaning, maintenance tasks, and other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical and masonry.
Experience in grounds keeping or equipment maintenance.
Experience working in parks or a similar setting.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain bathhouses, day-use restrooms, campsites, and other facilities.
Mow grass, trim weeds, and perform general grounds keeping tasks.
Remove leaves, trash, and litter from park areas.
Perform basic maintenance on vehicles, tools, and equipment.
Work involves standing, bending and outdoors in varying conditions.
Assist in additional maintenance and operational tasks as assigned by supervisors.
