Job summary

Virginia State Parks is hiring Shenandoah River State Park for a Night Maintenance Ranger. You will perform evening park operations tasks, including posting site tags for campsites, restocking firewood, cleaning restrooms, and light maintenance of park buildings and grounds.

Most shifts 3:30pm–10:00pm; may vary by season. Must be 17+, have valid driver’s license; background check, I-9/E-Verify, and agency rules apply. This is a wage/seasonal role with weekend and holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently without supervision, as well as in a team setting.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform necessary operations tasks for evening park operations, including posting site tags for rented campsites and picnic shelters, restocking of fire wood in self-pay stalls, and cleaning of public restrooms.
• Light maintenance on park buildings, outdoor structures, and grounds as needed.
• Position primarily works shifts from 3:30pm-10:00pm, with a focus on covering weekend operations.
• Must be willing to work shift work, weekends, and holidays from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
• Must be 17 years old or older and have a valid State Driver’s License.
