Job summary

Sports Basement is seeking a Staffer to lead a zone/department on the sales floor, ensuring daily tasks are completed and standards are met. You will train staff, maintain morale, and deliver WOW customer service while collaborating with Lead and Management.

You’ll primarily work on the sales floor, engaging with a wide range of customers and sharing in the joy of outdoor gear while Upholding store standards and brand culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or related industry; leadership potential.
• Desire to grow into a leadership role.
• Ability to create a WOW experience for every customer.
• Strong verbal and written communication with customers and staff.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with common software.
• Flexible and adaptable as day-to-day needs change.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stay on feet for long periods.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Time management and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of business tools for zone duties (Google Docs, Shopify, POS, Lightspeed, Fiori).
• Availability to work most weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operations in your assigned zone/department with minimal supervision.
• Delegate tasks, monitor daily task lists, and ensure goals are met.
• Provide WOW customer service and be a positive role model for staff.
• Collaborate with management to plan department actions and displays.
• Train and support staff in your zone as needed; participate in trainings.
• Communicate clearly in writing and verbally; uphold Sports Basement values.
