Job summary

Sports Basement in Los Angeles is seeking a Staffer to lead a zone/department on the sales floor with minimal supervision and high energy. You will motivate teammates, manage daily tasks, and deliver WOW customer service while representing the Sports Basement brand.

You'll train staff, align with leads on priorities, maintain organization, and help achieve daily goals. This role suits a sports enthusiast who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and loves sharing gear knowledge.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or industry experience and a desire to grow into leadership.
• Passionate sports or outdoor enthusiast is a plus.
• Ability to create a WOW experience for every customer.
• Strong verbal and written communication with customers and staff.
• Basic computer skills; adaptable as roles shift.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds and stand for long shifts.
• Familiarity with store tools including Google Docs, Shopify, POS, Lightspeed, and Fiori.

Responsibilities

• Provide WOW customer service and lead by example on the sales floor.
• Train SB staff to utilize SB tools and create WOW experiences.
• Identify merch priorities and plan daily actions with leads/managers.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the zone/department.
• Delegate tasks and supervise staff to meet daily goals.
• Monitor store performance and strive to achieve department targets.
