Job summary

Lumos is seeking an OSP Line Crew Technician to install, maintain, and repair outside plant facilities such as poles and aerial cables, ensuring reliable fiber services.

The role requires climbing poles, following safety standards (NESC/OSHA), and working in fast-paced environments. CDL Class A eligibility is required, with certifications pursued as needed; strong teamwork and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of line construction experience.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Class A CDL.
• Willingness to obtain necessary certifications as required by local/state highway safety regulations.
• Must be able to safely climb utility poles using gaffs, safety belt, and extension ladders or learn this skill.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction, installation, and maintenance of outside plant (OSP) facilities, including poles, anchors, and aerial cables.
• Complete cable placement and re-arrangements in compliance with industry standards.
• Ensure adherence to NESC, OSHA, and applicable state regulations.
• Participate in shift work and be available for on-call repair assignments.
• Diagnose and repair OSP infrastructure issues safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate OSPC documentation and records.
