Job summary

Transmission & Distribution World is seeking an experienced Aerial Lineman to install, maintain, and repair aerial OSP telecommunications infrastructure in Lincoln, Alabama. You will work with fiber optic and coaxial cable, climb poles, and operate bucket trucks to complete tasks safely and per project specs.

The role requires outdoor work in varying weather, a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred), and the ability to lift heavy loads.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in aerial OSP telecommunications construction preferred.
• Knowledge of fiber optic and coaxial cable installation.
• Comfortable climbing poles and working at heights.
• Ability to safely operate and work from bucket trucks and aerial equipment.
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license required.
• CDL preferred.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair aerial fiber optic and coaxial cable
• Place and secure strand, cable, and other aerial telecommunications equipment
• Install and maintain anchors, guy wires, and associated hardware
• Climb utility poles and work from bucket trucks at various heights
• Lash and transfer aerial cable as required
• Read and interpret OSP construction prints and work orders
• Identify and troubleshoot issues with aerial cable infrastructure
• Set up and maintain safe work zones in accordance with safety requirements
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean job site
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman or Supervisor
