Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• No experience required; 0–6 months in customer service, call center, scheduling, healthcare, or service environment preferred.
• Healthcare scheduling experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Initiates outbound calls to patients with referrals requiring appointment scheduling.
• Reviews referral information to determine scheduling needs and appropriate next steps.
• Schedules appointments according to established provider, department, and scheduling guidelines.
• Provides patients with clear information regarding appointment date, time, location, and scheduling instructions.
• Completes and documents required patient outreach attempts in accordance with workflows.
• Accurately updates referral and scheduling information to reflect patient contact and appointment outcomes.
• Identifies incomplete information, scheduling barriers, or referrals requiring additional assistance and escalates when needed.
• Uses scheduling resources to identify appointment options and support timely patient access.
• Provides professional, courteous, and patient-centered service during interactions.
• Maintains patient confidentiality per procedures and standards.
• Meets expectations for quality, productivity, attendance, and schedule adherence.
• Collaborates with Access Center teams and departments to support referral scheduling and resolution.
