Job summary

Genuine Parts Company is seeking an Outbound Operations Supervisor to lead the outbound team in pulling, packing, sorting, and loading shipments safely and efficiently. The role reports to the Outbound Operations Manager and emphasizes engagement, empowerment, and problem-solving among teammates.

The supervisor will design processes, monitor performance, and implement cost-saving improvements while upholding high standards of operational execution and safety across the distribution center.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• 1+ years’ experience in a distribution center or similar
• Ability to comply with safety requirements in a DC environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to develop cooperative working relationships
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Basic computer skills required
• Must be able to lift/move up to 60 lbs
• Forklift and pallet jack certified

Responsibilities

• Supervise and implement efficient outbound operations by instructing staff and monitoring progress
• Design and maintain organization of truck yard operations and ensure safety protocols
• Drive adherence to security rules and safe loading procedures
• Identify opportunities for cost reductions and process improvements
• Mentor and lead warehouse associates to empower problem-solving
• Investigate and resolve shipping errors and prevent recurrence
• Schedule team hours to ensure peak period coverage and efficiency
• Oversee loading accuracy and reconcile nightly truck loads
• Ensure compliance with factory return guidelines and other outbound processes
