Job summary

Genuine Parts Company in New York is seeking an Outbound Operations Supervisor to lead the outbound shipping team, ensuring accurate pulling, sorting, packing and loading. You will design efficient methods, reinforce safety and quality, and drive engagement and problem-solving across the crew.

The role reports to the Outbound Operations Manager and requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a focus on cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high standards of operational execution

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years’ experience in a distribution center or similar.
• Ability to comply with safety requirements pertaining to job functions and general Distribution Center safety requirements.
• Strong interpersonal skills and communication ability.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must be capable of lifting up to 60 lbs and operating warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise outbound operations and instruct staff to perform work, monitor progress and troubleshoot as needed.
• Design and maintain organization of truck yard operations, ensuring efficient trailer organization and safety protocols.
• Lead safety and security initiatives, including proper loading procedures and adherence to regulations.
• Monitor budget considerations and drive cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
• Provide leadership to warehouse associates and promote engagement, problem-solving and good operational decisions.
• Coordinate with DC management to investigate and resolve shipping errors and prevent recurrence.
