Job summary

Genuine Parts Company is seeking an Outbound Operations Supervisor to lead the outbound team in pulling, packing, and shipping processes. You will design efficient methods, ensure safe loading, and uphold high standards of execution in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

You will mentor staff, drive process improvements, and monitor adherence to safety and security rules while coordinating with DC management to resolve errors and optimize performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• 1+ years’ experience within a distribution center or similar environment.
• Ability to comply with all safety requirements pertaining to job functions and general Distribution Center safety requirements.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
• Strong organizational skills detail oriented.
• Ability to use good judgment in order to carry out detailed instructions.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Must be capable of lifting/moving heavy items up to 60 lbs.
• Must be forklift and pallet jack certified.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and implement efficient outbound operations by instructing employees how to perform work, monitor progress and troubleshoot.
• Design and maintain organization of truck yard operations, ensuring efficient trailer organization, housekeeping, maintenance and safety protocols.
• Drive adherence to security and safety rules to ensure a safe environment for employees including picking, sorting and load procedures.
• Monitor budget planning and enforce cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
• Lead warehouse associates, promote engagement and empowerment to solve problems and make operational decisions.
• Investigate and resolve shipping errors with the team to mitigate future issues.
• Schedule team hours to ensure peak period coverage and efficiency.
• Oversee loading, unloading, and reconciliation of truck loads nightly and ensure proper receipts.
• Design and implement efficient protocols for shuttle orders and truck loading.
• Ensure compliance with factory returns guidelines.
