Job summary

Southeast Freight Lines is hiring a Full-time Outbound Freight Handler in Mississippi. You will load and unload freight, operate forklifts and related equipment, and ensure proper handling, weighing, and packing of shipments.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Able to pass background check and drug/alcohol test.
Prefer forklift-related experience (dock, warehouse, material handler).
Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Load and unload freight on equipment and assist in recouping damaged freight.
Prepare, sweep, inspect and clean trailers before loading.
Use safe lifting techniques to load/unload freight.
Select and use appropriate freight handling equipment (forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks).
Weigh and dimension shipments for classification and safe handling.
Plan cube utilization and weight distribution during loading.
Count and inspect freight for shortages or damage.
Review freight bills and manifests for instructions and exceptions.
Verify hazardous material paperwork and placarding when needed.
