Job summary

Getty seeks a skilled Utility & Building Systems Outage Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and communicate outages across Getty facilities. You will be the central point of contact between Capital Projects, contractors, in-house facilities staff, and Getty Communications to ensure outages are scheduled, communicated, and executed with minimal disruption.

The role requires knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, plus strong communication and organizational skills to manage

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5+ years in facilities.
• Experience coordinating with contractors, facilities staff, project managers, and communications teams.
• Ability to translate technical information into clear updates for a non-technical audience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planned and emergency utility/building outages with Getty stakeholders and affected parties.
• Develop and distribute outage notifications describing the outage scope and timeline.
• Serve as primary liaison among project managers, contractors, in-house facilities staff, Getty Communications and utility reps.
• Maintain understanding of Getty utility infrastructure to assess outage scope and risk.
• Track outage schedules and provide timely updates for changes or extensions.
• Coordinate outage information dissemination across departments, galleries, and public areas.
• Identify conflicts with museum operations and proactively resolve scheduling issues.
• Maintain logs of past and upcoming outages for reporting.
• Represent outage coordination needs in project meetings; input on sequencing of work.
• Support post-outage debriefs to capture lessons learned.
