Job Summary:

The Outage Coordinator is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing outage schedules to ensure efficient and timely execution. This role plays a crucial part in managing outages across various industries, including construction, engineering, manufacturing, and project management. The primary goal is to coordinate and oversee outage planning to meet project deadlines and objectives while minimizing disruptions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Outage Schedule Development:
    • Collaborate with project managers and teams to create detailed outage schedules, including tasks, milestones, and resource requirements.
    • Ensure schedules are realistic and aligned with project goals and constraints.
  • Resource Allocation:
    • Allocate personnel, equipment, and materials based on outage requirements.
    • Optimize resource distribution to enhance efficiency and minimize delays.
  • Critical Path Analysis:
    • Identify and monitor the critical path of an outage to prevent project delays.
    • Adjust schedules as necessary to mitigate bottlenecks.
  • Schedule Updates & Adjustments:
    • Regularly update outage schedules to reflect changes in scope, resources, or timelines.
    • Communicate schedule adjustments to project teams and key stakeholders.
  • Risk Management & Contingency Planning:
    • Assess potential risks that may impact outage schedules.
    • Develop and implement mitigation strategies to prevent project delays.
  • Performance Reporting:
    • Generate and update outage reports and dashboards to track progress, milestones, and potential issues.
    • Provide stakeholders with timely insights into schedule status and risks.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance:
    • Ensure outage schedules adhere to industry best practices and project management standards.
    • Implement process improvements to enhance scheduling accuracy and efficiency.
  • Communication & Collaboration:
    • Facilitate communication between the outage team and key stakeholders.
    • Address scheduling conflicts, constraints, and challenges as they arise.
  • Documentation & Record-Keeping:
    • Maintain comprehensive records of outage schedules, updates, and revisions for future reference and analysis.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Technical & Analytical Skills:
    • Strong analytical skills for critical path analysis, risk assessment, and data-driven decision-making.
    • Proficiency in project scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, SAP).
  • Communication & Coordination:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with project teams and stakeholders.
    • Strong ability to negotiate and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Attention to Detail:
    • High level of accuracy in outage scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
  • Time Management & Adaptability:
    • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adjust to shifting project priorities.
