Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc is seeking a CDL-A tractor-trailer driver to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-points. You will perform pre-trip inspections, hook/unhook trailers, and maintain logs while following dispatch instructions and DOT regulations.

The role requires the ability to lift about 100 pounds, operate long combination vehicles, and work with or without supervision. Overnight stays and variable hours may be required.

Qualifications

• CDL A with double/triple and hazmat/tank endorsements; automatic transmission allowed.
• 1 year experience in past 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have an acceptable MVR and meet DOT 391 standards.
• Long combination vehicles allowed; comply with LCv qualification in listed states.
• Basic written and verbal communication; ability to lift about 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles; haul linehaul as assigned.
• Perform daily pre-trip inspections and ensure safety compliance.
• Hook/unhook trailers and connect dollies; load and unload freight as required.
• Maintain logs, complete reports, and follow dispatch instructions.
• Adhere to DOT regulations and company policies; communicate delays or issues.
• Work independently or as part of a team; perform other duties as needed.
