Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is hiring an OT Network & Security Engineer II to implement, operate, and support secure network infrastructure across operational technology environments. You will partner with SCADA, field operations, and OT cybersecurity to ensure reliable connectivity and enforce approved security controls.

Preferred OT/SCADA exposure, strong enterprise networking or security background, and experience with Cisco and Palo Alto/Fortinet technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity or related field
• 3+ years of experience in network engineering, security, or related technologies
• Experience with distributed, remote, industrial, utility, manufacturing, or operational environments preferred
• OT/SCADA experience preferred but not required; strong enterprise networking or security experience acceptable
• CCNA/CCNP or equivalent experience preferred
• Experience with Cisco switching, routing, wireless, or network services; security policy and VPN experience
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards (NIST, ISA/IEC 62443, NERC CIP, ISO 27001)
• Equivalent experience with enterprise networking and security technologies will be considered
• Ability to work independently and lead technical workstreams

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and related network infrastructure
• Support routing, VLANs, network segmentation, firewall policies, and secure remote access
• Monitor network performance, device health, logs, and security events
• Troubleshoot network, firewall, VPN, segmentation, and application connectivity issues
• Implement firewall rules, security profiles, and access controls for least-privilege access
• Perform firmware upgrades, patching, hardening, and vulnerability remediation
• Support network and cybersecurity incident response
• Execute changes through change-management processes
• Support commissioning and technology refresh at operational sites
• Maintain network diagrams, configuration records, IP addressing, firewall documentation
• Collaborate with OT cybersecurity teams to translate requirements into solutions
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability, security, monitoring, automation, and standardization
