Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Security Architecture Engineer II to own the OT security architecture across our grid-scale generation fleet in 27 states. You will design and deploy defenses for live industrial control systems and lead security toolchains end-to-end.

In this role you will set reference architectures, hardening baselines, and ensure secure deployment for new projects, while partnering with SOC and plant operations to translate risk into actionable controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, or related fields, or equivalent proven track record.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity, network engineering, or control systems engineering; 3+ years in OT/ICS/SCADA.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage relationships.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and operation of the OT security toolset across the fleet; define deployment standards.
• Maintain OT security standards, secure baselines, and hardening aligned to ISA/IEC 62443 and CIS Benchmarks.
• Onboard OT logs into enterprise monitoring; develop OT-specific detection content with SOC.
• Perform OT risk assessments using MITRE ATT&CK for ICS; manage remediation cadence.
• Lead investigation, threat hunting, and containment planning for OT security incidents.
• Define least-privilege roles and secure remote access; review third-party designs.
• Embed OT security requirements into new-build and repowering projects and contracts.
• Serve as OT security contact for OT, plant operations, asset management, and project engineering.
• Produce runbooks and provide hands-on training for site personnel.
