Job summary

Moderna is seeking an Operational Technology (OT) Response Engineer to bolster enterprise defense and incident response across OT environments. This role sits on the Cybersecurity Incident Response team and collaborates with cybersecurity and OT teams to coordinate containment and rapid remediation.

The ideal candidate blends incident response experience with deep OT knowledge, balancing cyber events with operational continuity to protect manufacturing systems and critical operations at Moderna.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline.
• 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity, software engineering, or IT with subject matter expertise in threat detection, detections engineering, response, or threat hunting.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Splunk Enterprise Security (ES), Defender, and CrowdStrike Falcon.
• Knowledge of OT/ICS environments, manufacturing networks, and operational constraints.
• Understanding of cloud security architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern detection telemetry.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, and CIS frameworks for threat mapping and control alignment.

Responsibilities

• Understand incident response processes: triage, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident review.
• Investigate security alerts related to malware, endpoint threats, identity-based attacks.
• Hands-on experience with security tools such as Splunk ES, Nozomi, CrowdStrike Falcon.
• Understand regulatory concerns in OT environments.
• Coordinate response efforts across cybersecurity, OT, and IT teams.
• Strong communications to summarize findings, impact, and actions.
• Knowledge of OT-specific threats.
• Investigate security events by analyzing logs of network traffic and system behavior.
