Job summary

TheraDynamics in New York seeks a dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant to support skilled nursing patients. You will help clients regain independence through functional activities and cognitive retraining, under the supervision of an OT.

In this role you will design targeted interventions for ADLs, upper-extremity rehab, and safe discharge planning, with a focus on manageable caseloads and a collaborative care team including nursing, PT, SLP, and social work.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current or eligible for New York State OTA license.
• NBCOT certification (or eligible).
• Passion for helping patients regain independence.
• Strong clinical reasoning and creative problem-solving skills.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist OTs in procedures, tests and treatments to ensure safe, effective care.
• Develop individualized treatment plans focused on functional independence.
• Collaborate with nursing, PT, SLP, and social work to coordinate patient care.
• Address self-care skills, cognition, home safety, and caregiver training.
• Support discharge planning and ongoing therapy progress.
