Job summary

TheraDynamics is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our SNF team, helping patients regain independence after strokes, hip fractures, and cardiac events. You will work under an OT to design interventions addressing ADLs, cognition, and safe discharge planning.

Collaborate with nursing, PT, SLP, and social work to ensure coordinated care, address home safety and caregiver training, and provide compassionate, patient-centered therapy. New grads welcomed.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current or eligible for New York State OTA license.
• NBCOT certification (or eligible).
• Passion for helping patients regain independence.
• Strong clinical reasoning and creative problem-solving skills.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist Occupational Therapist in procedures, tests and complex treatments to ensure safe evaluation and treatment.
• Develop individualized treatment plans focused on functional independence.
• Collaborate with nursing, PT, SLP, and social work to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Address self-care skills, cognitive and perceptual deficits, home safety, adaptive equipment needs, and caregiver training.
• Apply clinical reasoning with realistic productivity expectations.
