Job summary

Pearce Services in Milwaukee is seeking an OSP Field Engineer to perform on-site validation of fiber network designs, including aerial, buried, and underground routes. You will gather field data, photos, and measurements to help the engineering team plan installations and ensure accuracy.

The role requires 3+ years in fiber/telecom construction, a valid driver's license, and proficiency with GIS and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in fiber/telecom construction.
• Knowledge of outside plant activities and make-ready issues.
• Ability to read as-built prints and identify conflicts.
• Familiar with GIS, ESRI, and shapefiles.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Identify, photograph, and document facilities such as cables, poles, and handholes.
• Measure attachment heights, spans, and distances to centerlines and property lines.
• Identify power and communication facilities and ownership on utility poles.
• Record bonding, grounding, guying, and anchor information.
• Deliver detailed field notes and photos to the engineering team.
• Identify obstructions to fiber placement and propose mitigation.
• Read and understand OSP construction techniques.
• Read GIS maps, conduit records, and layout drawings.
• Operate tools and devices ( measuring wheels, GPS, laser rangefinder, etc.).
• Use iPad, laptop, and file sharing for collaboration.
