Job summary

Pearce Services in Orlando, FL is seeking an OSP Field Engineer to perform on-site data collection for fiber networks and validate field designs. Responsibilities include documenting facilities, measuring heights and distances, and reading GIS maps and layout drawings.

Travel to multiple states is required; candidate must have 3+ years in telecom/OSP and a high school diploma. We offer comprehensive benefits, a base pay range of $24-$29 per hour, bonuses, a company vehicle where applicable,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in the fiber-optic/telecommunications/telecom construction industry.
• Knowledge of outside plant activities (Fiber Cable Design, Pole Line Construction, Conduit System design).
• Ability to read as-built prints and identify conflicts with existing facilities.
• Familiarity with GIS, ESRI, and shapefile functionality.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly.

Responsibilities

• Identify, photograph, and document facilities such as cables, poles, and handholes.
• Capture measurements of attachment heights and distances to centerlines.
• Identify utilities on poles and record bonding, grounding, and anchors.
• Deliver field notes and photos to the engineering team.
• Read GIS maps and layout drawings to support design decisions.
• Travel to multiple sites, potentially up to 100% of the time.
