Job summary

Lumos is seeking a full-time Manager - OSP Construction to lead Outside Plant fiber builds. You will supervise subcontractors, coordinate field teams, and ensure safe, on-time delivery while collaborating with Lumos engineers and local officials.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in OSP or fiber construction, 2–5 years directing crews, a high school diploma (Bachelor’s preferred), and proven project management skills.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in OSP construction, engineering, or fiber operations.
• 2–5 years leading techs and contract crews in fiber builds.
• A high school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Proven project management skills; multi-milestone delivery capability.
• Active, unencumbered driver’s license; telecom/fiber experience essential.

Responsibilities

• Safely complete market builds on time and within budget.
• Coordinate maintenance, repair, and upgrades of OSP facilities and community responses.
• Delegate tasks to direct reports; track progress and motivate contractor crews.
• Influence internal & external teams to stay on target.
• Interface with local governments and communities; respond promptly and professionally.
• Keep stakeholders informed of build progress at all times.
• Provide technical leadership to reports and subcontractors; standardize processes.
• Coordinate with utilities and pole/aerial teams with Lumos engineers.
• Manage CAPEX, OPEX, and inventory; approve expenses.
• Build and maintain a high-performing team; recruit and coach.
• Perform other duties and cross-functional projects.
