Job summary
Estes-Express-Lines in Toledo, OH is seeking an OS&D Clerk to investigate and resolve overages, shortages, and damaged freight including Hazmat materials. You will help identify freight for high-value shortages and determine the shipment/PRO to which they belong, working directly with Service Center Operations and other departments.
You will assist with resolving customer queries about shipping orders and pricing, maintain count lists, prepare paperwork, and document OS&D issues daily or weekly
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
- Knowledge of general LTL operations; OS&D experience preferred.
- Willing to wear boots/safety footwear.
- Proficient in MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
- AS400 experience strongly preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve OS&D issues and discrepancies.
- Identify freight for high-value shortages and determine the shipments/PRO to which they belong.
- Coordinate with Service Center Operations, Safety, Compliance & Field Support, Security Group and Corporate Operations.
- Respond to customer queries about shipping orders and pricing.
- Maintain count lists and compare with bills of lading.
- Prepare paperwork and repack OS&D freight.
- Record daily/weekly OS&D freight issues for management.
- Monitor OS&D emails and respond as needed.
- Coach and assist less experienced staff on the job.
