Job summary

Estes Express Lines in Toledo, OH is seeking a detail-oriented OS&D Clerk to investigate and resolve overages, shortages, and damaged freight, including Hazmat. You will work with cross-functional teams to identify shipments and support service center operations.

The role requires strong problem solving, customer service, and proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and AS400. Ideal candidates can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and lift up to 70 lbs as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Knowledge of general LTL operations; OS&D experience preferred.
• Wears boots/safety footwear as required.
• Proficient in MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
• AS400 experience strongly preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve all overages, shortages, and damaged freight issues.
• Identify freight for high value shortages and determine shipment/PRO.
• Work with Service Center Operations, OS&D/Customer Care Specialist, Safety, Compliance & Field Support, Security, and Corporate Operations.
• Assist with resolving customer queries regarding shipping orders and pricing.
• Maintain count list of items received or shipped and check against bill of lading.
• Prepare paperwork and repack OS&D freight.
• Maintain records reporting OS&D freight issues to service center management.
• Review and address various freight issues as assigned.
• Maintain a clean and organized OS&D area.
• Monitor OS&D related emails and respond as necessary.
• Utilize software and technologies (e.g., EDock, Customer Portals, Pega).
• Coach less experienced staff and provide on-the-job training.
