Job summary

Hanger, Inc. in Birmingham, AL is seeking a fabrication specialist to produce orthotic and prosthetic devices. This role operates mainly in a workshop away from the exam room, using hand tools and fabrication equipment to build and repair devices according to patient measurements.

You will manage ordering and receiving of materials, coordinate with vendors, and maintain inventory. The ideal candidate has hands-on skills with band saws, drill presses, vacuum systems, heat guns, and related tools,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• A valid driver’s license and driving record within policy standards.
• Technical training school or 2 years experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use appropriate hand tools to fabricate and repair orthotic and/or prosthetic devices.
• Perform ordering and receiving and other inventory tasks as assigned.
• Contact vendors to order orthotic fabrication materials and maintain inventory of items used during fabrication process.
