Job summary

Hanger, Inc. in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a full-time Fabrication Technician to support the fabrication of custom orthotic and prosthetic devices. The role focuses on plaster modifications and precision work in a lab setting.

You will use hand and power tools, follow physician specifications, and collaborate with clinicians to ensure proper fit, function, and patient comfort. Candidates should have a high school diploma and experience with basic shop tools, be able to stand for eight hours,

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience using basic shop hand tools.
Ability to work on feet for 8 hours.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
A valid driver’s license and driving record within policy.

Responsibilities

Fabricate custom upper extremity prosthetic and orthotic devices.
Configure devices to specifications established by a physician or other health care provider.
Utilize tools and precision instruments to achieve customized fit, optimal function, and maximum comfort for the patient.
Disassemble, repair and reassemble defective or worn devices or appliances.
Collaborate with the Clinician.
Interpret diagrams, schematics, or other instructions.
Ensure quality standards are met.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company standards.
Use hand tools, power tools, fixtures, drill presses, arbor presses, ovens, heat guns and other light duty equipment.
May perform sewing and/or plastic thermoforming.
