Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to create and modify orthotics and treat patients of all ages. You will evaluate patients, design plans of care, and adjust treatments based on response and evidence.

The role serves as a clinical resource for staff and students and emphasizes safe body mechanics and patient dignity. New grads may qualify for a $5,000 sign-on bonus and candidates with 1+ year post-licensure may receive $7,500 relocation available if moving 50+ miles.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA)
• Attend and satisfactorily complete all required continuing education regarding the care of acute stroke patients

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to perform patient transfers with assistance as needed
• Is aware of and demonstrates safe and appropriate body mechanics
• Designs an appropriate plan of care that integrates goals, treatment, outcomes and discharge plan
• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students and other health care providers
• Evaluates clinical findings to determine physical therapy diagnoses and outcomes of care
• Performs examination, selecting reliable examination methods relevant to chief complaint and history
• Produces documentation in accordance with CTSCP67
• Screens patients to determine effectiveness of therapy services
• Monitors care delivered by support personnel and provides feedback
• Completes annual education to comply with DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements
• Evaluates impairments related to orthopedic and neurologic conditions
• Establishes a plan of care based on functional deficits and patient goals
• Completes objective testing for ROM, strength, and daily tasks
• Completes daily documentation and charging in therapy EMR
• Applies tape for stabilization or movement facilitation
• Completes modalities such as ultrasound and interferential
• Communicates with referring provider on progress and recommendations
