The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of direct surgery scheduling, expertise with obtaining prior authorizations, and familiarity with EMR systems such as Centricity or Phoenix.

Strong communication, professional appearance, and the ability to multitask in a busy orthopedic setting are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to obtain prior authorizations for surgeries and procedures.
• 1+ year of direct surgery scheduling experience.
• Strong computer literacy and experience with electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Answer multiple telephone lines and direct calls to appropriate staff.
• Schedule surgical procedures with hospitals/ASC and coordinate with anesthesia and other services.
• Enter benefits/precertifications into EMR and assist with patient instructions.
