Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Christiansburg, VA is seeking a Procedure Scheduler for Orthopedics to manage ambulatory surgery schedules and coordinate pre-/post-operative care.

You will work with physicians, patients, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely appointments, accurate information, and smooth flow of surgical cases across facilities.

Education: High School diploma required; strong computer and CPT knowledge preferred; compensation is hourly with benefits.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Computer and word processing knowledge required.
• Keyboarding skills are essential.
• Medical terminology and CPT knowledge preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills required.

Responsibilities

• Ambulatory procedure schedules management for multiple providers.
• Coordinate pre-/post-surgical care and education classes.
• Communicate patient information accurately to facilities.
• Answer calls, screen messages, and provide timely patient information.
• Maintain OR utilization and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams.
