The role requires attention to detail, knowledge of CPT/ICD coding, and Epic experience. The schedule is day shifts, with office-based duties in RTP, NC, and opportunities to collaborate across departments.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Two years of experience in a clinical, coding or billing setting.
• Epic experience preferred for scheduling and coordination.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD coding preferred.

Aufgaben

• Coordinate perioperative scheduling for surgical procedures with patients, physicians and staff.
• Review surgical postings for accuracy including patient, procedure and site.
• Enter referrals and orders, coordinate scheduling in templates for each procedure.
• Schedule surgeries in Epic or other systems and secure OR times with hospitals.
• Manage pre- and post-operative appointments, clearances and follow-ups.
• Provide patients with detailed pre/post-operative care instructions.
• Communicate with patients promptly, confirming surgery dates and related appointments.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain prior authorizations if required.
• Explain out-of-pocket costs to patients and guide financial responsibilities.
• Submit daily billing sheets for coding surgeries and maintain documentation.
• Coordinate with anesthesia and other specialists to meet patient needs.
