Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking a full-time Practice Assistant II for the Orthopedics Joint Center at 2000 Washington Street, Newton. This onsite role supports both administrative and clinical operations, coordinating patient visits, scheduling, check-in/out, documentation, and essential communications with patients, providers, and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of office experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and maintain appointment records.
• Assist patients and callers with routine inquiries and scheduling needs.
• Process patient billing forms, scan documents, and maintain records.
• Support prior authorizations, prescription refill requests, and provider questions.
• Serve as a resource for scheduling, registration, and billing systems.
• Provide guidance and training to other administrative staff on key processes.
• Assist with more complex practice functions such as surgical scheduling and changes.
