Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Patient Services Representative to support the MG Orthopedics - North practice. You’ll assist with patient check-in/out, schedule appointments, triage calls, and handle basic clerical tasks to ensure smooth operations and a positive patient experience.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and a willingness to travel up to 45 minutes from the anchor site. Full-time position with day shifts and per NJ requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent education/experience.
• Demonstrates understanding of patient satisfaction and safety.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Attention to accuracy and detail.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent customer service; travel required.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient check-in and check-out functions.
• Answers routine questions in person and over the telephone.
• Performs basic clerical tasks such as copying, scanning, faxing, sorting, and distributing mail.
• Creates and maintains health record information, files, and organizes as needed.
• Coordinates with insurance providers and handles pre-authorizations and certifications as necessary.
