Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Patient Service Representative (PSR) in the MG Pediatric ENT West Orange practice. You will greet and check in patients, review schedules, and coordinate visits while handling routine questions with empathy and professionalism.

You will manage health records, liaise with insurance, and protect patient privacy, contributing to a smooth, patient-centered experience and efficient daily operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required and relevant experience or training.
• Clear understanding of patient satisfaction and safety; strong oral and written communication skills.
• Preferred qualifications include an Associate's or Bachelor's degree, prior medical receptionist or office experience, and knowledge of medical terminology and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming patients and performing check-in and check-out with professionalism and compassion.
• Review schedules and prepare for patient visits; ensure information is available.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up visits.
• Answer routine questions in person or by phone with excellent service.
• Perform clerical duties including copying, scanning, faxing, sorting and mail distribution.
• Create, maintain and organize patient health records.
• Coordinate with insurance providers and handle pre-authorizations and certifications as needed.
• Protect patient privacy and maintain a safe, welcoming practice environment.
