Job summary

Advocate Health Care in Concord, NC is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join the Orthopedics department. The role includes rooming patients, basic lab duties, and assisting providers with procedures in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Qualified candidates will have a medical assistant program completion, high school diploma, and BLS certification. Benefits eligible, with a 40-hour work week and day shifts within the department’s schedule.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent.
• 2+ years of verifiable Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or to be obtained.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and maintains competency.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, med history, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, labeling, results tracking.
• Conducts CLIA-waived tests per protocol.
• Administers medications and vaccines safely.
• Handles referrals, scheduling, and patient communications.
• Cross-trained across specialties within the practice.
