Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant in Concord, NC for a full-time role in orthopedics/surgical care. You will perform patient rooming, vital signs, histories, and assist with procedures, while managing lab tasks and vaccinations.

Strong communication and computer skills with EMR experience are essential. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and MA training, with BLS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required/preferred depending on division.

Responsibilities

• Perform rooming, vital signs, med reconciliation, and health history tasks.
• Assist provider with procedures and manage labs including venipuncture and POCT.
• Administer medications and vaccines per medication administration rights.
• Schedule appointments and handle referrals; maintain communication with patients and team.
• Maintain a clean, stocked workplace and ensure equipment is in working order.
• Demonstrate patient communication, teamwork, and appropriate escalation when needed.
