Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or may have completed structured military training which is clinical in nature per DD214 in lieu of a formal medical assistant program or EMT.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, history, screenings and health maintenance.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs venipuncture, specimen collection, labeling, and CLIA-waived lab tests in adherence to CLIA standards.
• Administers medications and vaccines following medication administration rights.
• Handles scheduling, referrals, insurance authorizations and patient messaging.
• Cross-trains to duties relevant to clinic practice within MA scope.
• Demonstrates teamwork and effective communication; escalates appropriately.
• Maintains clean work environment and ensures equipment and supplies are stocked.
