Job summary

Advocate Health in Salisbury, NC seeks a Medical Assistant for a full-time Orthopedics/Sports Medicine/Podiatry clinic. You will prepare patients, collect vitals, and document medical histories, while supporting lab work and procedures under supervision.

The role emphasizes teamwork, patient communication, and accurate use of EMR systems. BLS and medical assisting certification are required, with 1 year experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate Medical Assistant program required.
• BLS certification required.
• 1 year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room patients, record vitals and health information, and support quality improvement efforts.
• Perform lab procedures (strep, wound culture, specimen collection) using aseptic technique.
• Assist physicians with procedures (pelvic exams, testing, etc.) under supervision.
• Administer routine medications per orders, immunizations, and standing protocols.
• Coordinate test requests, referrals, and communicate updates to patients and staff.
• Maintain clinic flow and deliver accurate information to patients with empathy.
• Support additional clinical tasks such as sutures removal, phlebotomy, ECG, spirometry as needed.
