Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant in Elkin, NC to support orthopedics with patient intake, vital signs, and documentation. Responsibilities include phlebotomy, basic lab work, assisting physicians with procedures, and administering routine meds per protocol.

Strong communication and EMR skills are required to ensure efficient clinic flow and patient care. Candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, MA program graduation, and BLS certification if applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; MA program graduation preferred.
• BLS certification preferred/required depending on role.
• Experience with clinical tasks and patient communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and rooms the patient for exam and collects vital signs.
• Performs basic lab procedures and assists with procedures.
• Administers routine medications under orders or protocols.
• Ensures smooth clinic flow and communicates with the health care team.
• Demonstrates patient-age appropriate care and safety.
