Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems is seeking an Orthopedic Technician for the Short Pump Pavilion outpatient clinic. Under supervision of a licensed practitioner, you will apply casts, splints and other DME to orthopedic patients and provide patient/family teaching.

Responsibilities include maintaining supplies in the cast room, adhering to hospital policy, and supporting a collaborative team across nursing, physicians and therapists.

Qualifications

• Orthopedic Technician Certified (OTC) by NBCOT preferred.
• BLS Certification required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous outpatient clinic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Applies casts, splints and other DME to orthopedic patients in outpatient setting.
• Provides patient/family teaching to a wide variety of patients with varying educational levels.
• Orders and maintains supplies in the cast room.
