Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire date.
• State criminal background check and Federal background check as required.

Responsibilities

• Casts, splints, and applies durable medical equipment as ordered by staff Orthopaedics surgeons.
• Delivers patient care as directed by physicians.
• Obtain and document vitals on patients.
• Provide support to medical staff to assure patients' needs are met and to assure efficient operation of outpatient unit.
• Assist providers in completing requisitions or forms for patient examination or testing; ensure test results are available for visits.
• Administer prescribed medication under supervision of attending provider.
• Perform qualitative and quantitative tests and examinations of specimens.
• Obtain and document patients’ specimens as ordered.
• Document and report test results to medical provider.
• May perform POCT tests and maintain quality control logs.
• Schedule and coordinate new and return appointments and diagnostic/therapeutic procedures.
• May register patients and collect information for identification and billing.
• Assist with inventory and equipment maintenance for patient care needs.
• May assist Manager with unit correspondence and mailings.
