Job summary

Children’s National Hospital in Fairfax, VA, is seeking an Orthopedic Technician to provide specialized technical support to the Orthopedics division. You will assist with casting, traction, and bracing on wards, clinics, and in the OR, while coordinating with residents, nurses and technologists.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2 years in Orthopedics, and active NAOT/NBCT credentials. A strong emphasis on patient education and safety is essential, with benefits and a competitive hourly

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• 2 years experience in Orthopedics or related field (Required)
• Must be active member in the National Association of Orthopedic Technologist (N. A. O. T.) 180 Days; must pass NBOT certification and/or maintain National Board Certification 2 Yrs (Required)

Responsibilities

• Assist with application and removal of basic and specialized bracing, plaster and fiberglass casts on wards, in clinic and OR.
• Assist residents, nurses, and technologists with casting, splinting and traction techniques.
• Apply, modify and dismantle traction equipment.
• Complete rounds as required.
