VCU Health Orthopedic Clinic at Short Pump Pavilion is seeking an Orthopedic Technician to apply casts, splints and other DME under the supervision of a licensed practitioner in an outpatient setting.
You will provide patient/family teaching, assist in the cast room and manage supplies; a high school diploma is required and OTC certification is preferred. Some Saturday hours apply; no nights or holidays are required. Free parking onsite is available.
At the Orthopedic Clinic at Short Pump Pavilion, we provide a range of care to patients of all ages for a multitude of orthopedic sub-specialties to include foot/ankle, hand, joint, shoulder/elbow and spine as well as pediatrics, oncology, sports, trauma and wounds. We are made up of a collaborative team of RNs, LPNs, CMAs, NPs, PAs, Surgeons and Physicians who are dedicated to providing exceptional care to or patients. Our clinic hours are Monday-Friday 7:45am-5pm and we offer flexible shift options. You will work some Saturday clinic hours 9am-1pm but no nights or holidays are required. Enjoy free parking onsite!
Under the supervision of a licensed independent practitioner, the Orthopedic Tech job applies casts, splints and other DME to the Orthopedic patient population in an outpatient setting. This role provides patient/family teaching to a wide variety of patients with varying educational levels. This role also orders and maintains supplies in the cast room.
Functions under direction of a licensed independent practitioner in providing patient care related to casts, splints and wound care all in accordance with hospital, nursing and unit policy/procedure. Requires prior approval or guidance from supervisor regarding time/schedule changes, legal issues, direct care which deviates from standard and identifying educational resources to meet developmental needs.
