Job summary

UTMB Health in League City Orthopedics is seeking a Casting (Orthopedic) Technician to provide skilled clinical support in applying, adjusting, and removing casts, splints, and braces within outpatient clinics.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, ortho casting experience or approved program completion, and BLS certification. On-site schedule; work closely with physicians to ensure safe immobilization and patient education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of orthopedic technician experience OR completion of listed programs with casting experience.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Apply fiberglass and plaster casts.
• Fit upper and lower extremity braces.
• Apply splints and create molds for custom braces.
• Remove sutures and staples.
• Support patient care and clinic workflow.
• Maintain equipment and clinical environment.
• Document interventions clearly and communicate with providers.
