University of Florida is recruiting for an Orthopedic Surgery Veterinary Technician to join a busy Small Animal Surgery service. The role involves nursing duties, caring for cats and dogs, assisting with procedures under sedation and anesthesia, and performing diagnostic imaging in a teaching hospital setting.

The position is full-time, Monday–Friday, with competitive wages and benefits including health insurance and paid leave. Credentialed technicians are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with one year relevant experience or equivalent coursework.
• Credentialed veterinary technician credential required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with appointments and routine procedures under sedation and anesthesia in sterile conditions.
• Perform diagnostic workups including digital radiography and CT.
• Communicate with clients and work with boarded surgeons, residents/interns, and students in a fast-paced teaching environment.
