Job summary

SPCA Florida Veterinary Clinic is seeking a skilled Veterinary Surgical & Anesthesia Technician who thrives in a collaborative team and has a passion for dogs and cats. You will contribute across the full range of technician duties, from surgical prep and anesthesia management to client communication and post-operative care.

Qualifications

• CVT or equivalent veterinary technician experience preferred.
• Experience with surgical and/or anesthesia procedures is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring, surgical prep, patient recovery and radiography terms.
• Ability to place IV catheters and collect diagnostic samples.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for surgery, including clipping, surgical preparation/scrub, positioning and patient identification.
• Assist with anesthesia induction, maintenance, monitoring, and recovery.
• Monitor patients during procedures and promptly communicate abnormalities to the veterinarian.
• Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and areas.
• Assist veterinarians during surgeries and medical treatments.
• Educate clients regarding patient care, medications, and discharge instructions.
