Job summary

SPCA Florida is seeking a Veterinary Surgical & Anesthesia Technician to support exceptional patient care in a collaborative clinic.

You will assist with surgical prep, anesthesia management, monitoring, recovery, and client education while upholding a clean, efficient workflow across the full range of technician duties.

Ideal candidates are passionate about dogs and cats, excel under pressure, communicate clearly with clients, and contribute to team growth and mentorship.

Qualifications

• CVT graduate from AVMA-accredited program is preferred or demonstrated technician experience.
• Experience with surgical and/or anesthesia procedures strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring, surgical prep, recovery, and radiography terminology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for surgery, including clipping and scrubbing.
• Assist with anesthesia induction, maintenance, monitoring and recovery.
• Monitor patients and report abnormalities to the veterinarian.
• Maintain instruments, equipment, and surgical areas.
• Assist veterinarians during procedures and with medications/fluids.
• Place IV catheters and collect diagnostic samples as directed.
• Run diagnostic radiographs and maintain medical records.
• Provide post-operative care and client education.
