Job summary

Adventist HealthCare's Outpatient Orthopedic Practice seeks to hire an experienced Patient Care Coordinator for our Orthopedic Surgery location who will guide patients through the surgical journey and manage pre- to post-operative processes.

The role requires three years in a physician/orthopedic practice with CMA/RMA certification and familiarity with EMR systems, offering a full-time, day-shift schedule with Rockville/Germantown rotations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a physician practice, orthopedic practice, surgical coordination, care coordination, or related healthcare setting.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent certification required.
• Associate degree preferred in health sciences or related field.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for total joint replacement patients throughout the surgical journey.
• Coordinate appointments related to surgery, medical clearance, pre-admission testing, rehabilitation, and follow-up care.
• Manage referrals, scheduling, authorizations, documentation, and communications with insurers, providers, and patients.
• Responsible for post-operative pain management in collaboration with the surgeon's protocol.
• Provide educational materials and answer patient questions regarding the surgical process.
